ISCAS 2010 in Paris was a Great Success!

Bonjour! The 2010 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS2010) was successfully held in Paris, France from 30 May to 2 June 2010. This year’s symposium focused on circuits and systems employing nanodevices (both extremely scaled CMOS and non-CMOS devices) and circuit fabrics (mixture of standard CMOS and evolving nano-structure elements), and their implementation, switching speed, energy efficiency, and reliability.

The technical program this year consisted of regular sessions, poster sessions, special sessions, keynote presentations, live-demos, cutting-edge tutorials and a student paper contest.
The presentations were organized in 129 regular sessions, 56 poster sessions and 33 exciting special sessions spread over three days. Authors from 62 countries around the world attended and presented their latest research results. The program was highlighted by three keynote talks; “Nanosystems: devices, circuits, architectures and applications” by Prof. Giovanni De Micheli (EPFL, Lauzanne), “From Smart Pacemaker to Remote Monitoring of Cardiac Function” by Dr. Alain Ripart (Sorin Group CRM) and “Energy-saving approaches for warehouse-scale computing” by Dr. Wolf-Dietrich Weber (Google). Participants had many fruitful discussions during the sessions, lunches and coffee breaks.

The symposium banquet was held at the 19th Century Chateau de Ferriere, where people enjoyed the French cuisine and a traditional French Cabaret show. At the end of the banquet, all-time classics were played and people filled the dance floor, all having great times. A few folks even missed the final train to get back to their hotels!

The next ISCAS will move to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and will surely prove to be an unforgettable one! See you all there!
