The technical program this year consists of regular sessions and poster sessions, special sessions, keynote presentations, live-demos, tutorials and a student paper contest. It is organized in 115 regular sessions, 36 poster sessions and 16 exciting special sessions spared over three days. Authors from around the world was attending and presenting their latest research results. The papers originate from 45 different countries.

The program was highlighted by three keynote talks; “Aiming at the Natural Equilibrium of Planet Earth Requires to Reinvent Computing” by Prof. Reiner Hartenstein (TU Kaiserslautern), “A Glimpse at the Future of Computing” by Dr. Rico Malvar (Microsoft Research) and “Exploring the Sublteties of the Quantum World: from Einstein and Schrödinger to Quantum Information” by Prof. Luiz Davidovich (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro). Participants were listening intently to these talks presenting their latest research topics. Also during the any kinds of sessions, participants had fruitful discussions.

The social events were really exciting. Before the welcome reception, we had the dance lesson of Samba (rhythmical dance of Brazilian) for two hours. At first, it was difficult to take rhythm for participants. At the end of lesson, everyone was enjoying Samba with wonderful steps and smiles. In the symposium banquet, Brazilian foods, drinks and desserts were waiting us. Also, Samba team captivated the participants with their excellent music and dance performance. At this symposium, I was deeply impressed by the Brazilian cultures.
