IEEE Technical Field Awards 2015

The 2015 IEEE Gustav Robert Kirchoff Award is awarded to YOSIRO OONO (LFIEEE), Professor Emeritus, Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan: “For fundamental contributions to the foundation of classical circuit theory.”

The 2015 IEEE Biomedical Engineering Award is awarded to CHRISTOFER TOUMAZOU (FIEEE), Professor, Imperial College London, London, United Kingdom: “For outstanding contributions to biomedical circuit technology.”

The (inaugural) 2015 IEEE Fourier Award for Signal Processing is awarded to GEORGIOS B. GIANNAKIS (FIEEE), Endowed Chair Professor and Director of Research Center, Digital Technology Center, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA: “For contributions to the theory and practice of statistical signal processing and its applications to wireless communications.”
