WiCAS Forum by CASS Shenzhen Chapter

Co-sponsored by IEEE Circuit and System Society Shenzhen Chapter, and the Division of Information Science and Technology, Graduate School at Shenzhen, Tsinghua University, the WiCAS forum was held successfully on December 25, 2018 at building CIII-Rm302 Tsinghua Campus, in order to help female members improve themselves and familiarize with the formats and process of international academic conferences. 48 student members participated in this forum, including 22 female members.

This mini-conference selected a female member as emcee and was divided into two parts. The first is the invited guest speech. Zhao Zhang, post-doctoral fellow with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology gave a lecture about robust low-voltage ultra-low power CMOS Phase-locked loops. To help female student make progress academically, he also shared his experience from his first work to ISSCC2019 job.

In the second part of this event, 16 female members gave speeches with topics covering RF transceiver, on chip coil antenna and so on. It was a good opportunity to share their understanding of the state-of-the-art designs and to practice their oral and poster presentation skills.  This activity has also improved women’s self-confidence and enthusiasm in participating IEEE activities.
