2022 IEEE CAS Society Call for Awards Nominations

This message is to notify you that nominations for the annual awards of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society are now being accepted. Nominations should now be submitted online by 15 February 2022.

Please visit our Awards page where you will find descriptions of the awards being given in 2022.

Online submissions: (Note: Self-nominations are not allowed for any award other than the Pre-Doctoral Grant Awards.)

It is very desirable that members who have contributed significantly to the various CAS Society activities highlighted by our awards be recognized. This is our way of showing our appreciation for their accomplishments.

Questions regarding awards and nominations should be sent to the CASS Operations Manager at manager@ieee-cas.org.

Thank you for your cooperation and effort.

2022 Call for Student Travel Grant Nominations

CASS offers Student Travel Grants to enable the winners to present their research work at CASS flagship conferences.

Important Dates:

  • Submission Deadline 1: 1 February 2022
  • Submission Deadline 2: 1 May 2022
  • Submission Deadline 3: 1 August 2022
  • Submission Deadline 4: 1 October 2022

Prize:

The amount of financial assistance provided to each student will be based on specifics of the travel involved and cannot exceed a maximum of $1500 USD. For virtual conferences, registration fees can be supported.

These grants can be used both as reimbursement of expenses for attending a conference that has taken place up to one year before the grant application deadline and also as a grant for attending a conference that will take place up to one year after the application deadline.

Selection Criteria:

  • Students must have had their papers selected for presentation at the conference they plan to attend or have attended.
  • A faculty member must confirm that the nominee is an undergraduate or graduate student and that he/she is an IEEE CASS member.
  • Eligibility will also be based on financial needs.

Basis for Judging:

  • Students receiving these grants must have had their papers selected for presentation at the CASS flagship conference(s) they plan to attend or have attended.
  • In the case that the grant is for attending a conference occurring after the grant application deadline, a faculty member must confirm that the nominee is an undergraduate or graduate student and is an IEEE CASS student member.
  • In the case of reimbursement for attending a conference that occurred before the application deadline, it is sufficient to confirm that the nominee: was an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of the conference, and is an IEEE CASS member, and was an IEEE CASS student member at the time of the conference.

Call for Proposals for 2022 Seasonal Schools in Circuits and Systems (SSCAS)

Each year, the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS) organizes several Seasonal Schools in different countries across all regions. These schools bring the latest happenings in the world of circuits and systems to our members.  The materials used in the school are published as e-books in the CASS Resource Center, which can be freely downloaded by CASS members. Some of the recent e-books are listed below:

  • Selected Topics in RF, Analog and Mixed Signal Circuits and Systems
  • Circuits and Systems for the Internet of Things
  • Selected Topics in Power, RF, and Mixed-Signal ICs
  • Power Management for Internet of Everything
  • Enabling Technologies for the Internet of Things: Wireless Circuits, Systems and Networks
  • Low Power Circuit Design Using Advanced CMOS Technology
  • Circuits and Systems for Biomedical Applications
  • Circuits and Systems for Wearable Technologies
  • From Artificial Intelligence to Brain Intelligence
  • Heterogeneous Cyber Physical Systems of Systems
  • Selected Topics in Biomedical Circuits and Systems
  • Advanced Tutorial on Analog Circuit Design
  • Advanced Tutorial on Radio Frequency Circuit Design
  • SoC Designs for Bio-Medical Applications
  • Smart Sensors and Devices

Proposal Request

We are soliciting proposals for the Seasonal Schools in Circuits and Systems (SSCAS) in 2022. The targeted audiences are research students, early-stage researchers, and practitioners with a background in circuits and systems. CAS Emerging topics and topics that complement those in published e-books will be prioritized.

CASS will provide funding support up to $5,000 USD for each accepted proposal. This year, fully virtual SSCAS's are also encouraged, but the funding support is limited up to $2,000 USD for each fully virtual school.

The proposal should be prepared following the guidelines below and submitted in pdf format by 15 January 2022 via email to manager@ieee-cas.org.  The Seasonal Schools should be planned for the period 16 February 2022 to 15 December 2022. Any inquiries should be sent to manager@ieee-cas.org.

Proposal submission guidelines and schedules are announced in the CASS website.
