IEEE CASS Fellows 2025
The grade of Fellow recognizes unusual distinction in the profession and is reserved for a person with an outstanding record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. The accomplishments that are being honored have contributed importantly to the advancement or application of engineering, science and technology, bringing the realization of significant value to society at large.

Results of the IEEE CASS Executive Committee Election
The IEEE Circuits and Systems Society Board of Governors recently voted on the 2025-2026 Executive Committee Officer election, the following candidates were elected:
- Vice President – Education and Communications: Fakhrul Zaman Rokhani
- Vice President – Financial Activities: Yoshifumi Nishio
- Vice President – Industry: Rajiv Joshi
- Vice President – Publications: Gabriele Manganaro

2025 IEEE CASS Pre-Doctoral Grants
The IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS) offers up to ten Pre-Doctoral Grants annually to recognize young members enrolled in a Ph.D. program in a field related to the Circuits and Systems Society Field of Interest to facilitate mobility to conduct interdisciplinary research at another research department.
Important Dates:
- Submission deadline: 6 January 2025
Up to 10 grants are given annually. Each recipient receives a full grant amount of $2,500 and a certificate. Grants will only be given if a suitable awardee is identified. The recipient will receive compensation of up to USD $1,000 for travel to a CASS flagship conference to receive the award.
Eligibility:
- A CAS Society Member for at least two years and is enrolled in a Ph.D. program related to the field of interest of CAS
- Nominees must provide an endorsement of a university/college faculty member who is a member of IEEE CASS
- Nominees must provide an endorsement from a CASS member host
- Nominees who expect to graduate less than one year after the application deadline are not eligible
- The grant is to be used for research purposes only
Basis for Judging:
- Past performance
- The expected outcome of the research program and how it advances the state-of-the-art
- Significance of research
- Involvement in the CAS Society research topic, past publications, volunteer experience, etc.

IEEE CASS Student Travel Grants
The IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS) offers Student Travel Support to enable the recipients to present their research work at CASS Flagship Conferences.
The Student Travel Grant process has been revised for 2025. Each call will include a specific set of CASS Flagship conferences based on the conference dates.
Round 1 will Include:
- 2025 16th IEEE Latin American Symposium on Circuits and Systems (LASCAS)
- 25-28 February 2025
- 2025 IEEE 7th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence Circuits and Systems (AICAS)
- 28-30 April 2025
Important Dates:
- The submission deadline is: 10 January 2025.
- Grant winners will be notified by 25 January 2025.
Selection Criteria:
- Student(s) receiving these grants must have had their papers selected for presentation at the CASS flagship conference(s) they plan to attend.
- A faculty member must confirm that the nominee:
- is an undergraduate or graduate student and
- is an IEEE CASS student member.
- The nominee must furnish written proof that the paper was accepted at the conference (e.g. email notification from the Technical Program Committee).
- The nominee must state in the application that he/she will attend the conference to present the paper.

Additional Details:
- The final amount awarded will be based on actual expenses, not exceeding the approved limit, and will follow IEEE’s standard travel reimbursement process.
- Self-nominations are allowed.
- Nominations will be reviewed confidentially by the Flagship Conference Evaluation Committees and the CASS Operations Office. They will be kept confidential.
- Nominations will be solicited through five calls in 2025, with strict deadlines for submission. Late nominations will not be accepted.
- Each conference will only be listed under one call.

This message is to notify you that nominations for the annual awards of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society are now being accepted. Nominations should be submitted online by 15 February 2025.
Award Nomination Forms:
It is very desirable that members who have contributed significantly to the various CAS Society activities highlighted by our awards be recognized. This is our way of showing our appreciation for their accomplishments.
Note: Award activities will be conducted in accordance with the IEEE Awards and Recognition Manual and the IEEE CASS Policies and Procedures, Section V.
